WhatsApp will now soon let you view YouTube videos without leaving the app. As of now if you tap on a YouTube video link, it usually forces you to open the YouTube app separately. As spotted by WABetaInfo website, the Facebook-owned instant messaging app is now testing this new feature in its iOS app’s beta version.
This feature is said likely to be hidden in the WhatsApp for iOS version 2.17.40. The app will let users playback YouTube video links likely in a picture-in-picture mode. The floating window then can be resized using pinch to zoom gesture. There will also be an option to open the video in fullscreen mode and also hide the chat window by docking the video on the size of the chat.
