At D23 Expo, going on right now, Marvel unveiled a life-size statue of Thanos as he’ll appear in Avengers: Infinity War. And unlike previous glimpses of the Mad Titan that we’ve seen, this Thanos came dressed to kill.
When Thanos finally goes to war with the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’ll have shed his gaudy space regalia in favor of a much more casual pair of space trousers. And an armored, sleeveless shirt, perfect for showing off his ridiculously muscular space arms.
Two members of the Guardians of the Galaxy roster have recently returned to the set of Avengers: Infinity War to finish filming. At the initial beginning of the year right as Infinity War started filming, the Guardians team were usually some of the first people to report to set.
Fans have already seen Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) standing along side-by-side with Iron Man and Spider-Man in Infinity war production teaser. While the rest of his team has officially reported to set throughout. This also includes the two newest members of the Guardians, Nebula and Mantis.
Avengers: Infinity War
Pom Klementieff debuted as Mantis earlier this year in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and also fully joined the team by the end of the film. Nebula (Karen Gillan) walked away at the end of the sequel. But also saw her relationship with the team grow over and over the course of the movie.
Both Gillan and Klementieff shared posts yesterday on Instagram, teasing their return to Infinity War.
It has been quite some major time since we last got word that members of the Guardians of the Galaxy were on the hand for filming Infinity War. Recently, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Hulk have been the major stars of set photos.
As Mantis and Nebula now on hand, it appears another section of the film is being shot. So why there has been such a major gap in time between appearances on the official set from the Guardians could be attributed to Pratt filming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. But however, now that the jurassic world sequal wrapped production. Now the leader of the Guardians may now have time to finish up Infinity War.
While their late arrival mostly attributed towards scheduling. It is very unclear when these scenes will take place in the grand scheme of those things.
Fans are surely hoping that Guardians will be close by during those final moments of Infinity War. But those scenes could also have been filmed months ago. The Guardians have likely been described as supporting players in infinity war. While still having integral roles to play. With two weeks of conventions just lined up for the Marvel Studios next.
Maybe we will soon get our first look at Mantis, Nebula, and the rest of the Guardians standing team alongside the Avengers, very soon.
